Lipstick
This New Yorker article is the funniest thing I’ve seen all week.
One of my favorite parts:
Sarah Palin knows a little something about God’s will, knowing God quite well, from their work together on that natural-gas pipeline, and what God wills is: Country First. And not just any country! There was a slight error on our signage. Other countries, such as that one they have in France, reading our slogan, if they can even read real words, might be all, like, “Hey, bonjour, they are saying we can put our country, France, first!” Non, non, non, France! What we are saying is, you’d better put our country first, you merde-heads, or soon there will be so much lipstick on your pit bulls it will make your berets spin!

Vegging
In general, I try not to watch too much TV. But I’ve had a lot of couch time lately, and have therefore more than my share of the idiot box. So here’s my Captain Obvious observation of the day: daytime television is painfully boring. I can’t stand the talk shows, and the interesting biography/history shows are few and far between.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule.
#1: Clean House
I love love love seeing people get rid of useless stuff and ending up with a clutter-free, completely organized household. It’s like visual crack for a borderline OCD freak like myself. Plus, I dig Niecy Nash of Reno 911 fame. Sometimes I will randomly bust out with a melodious “Who wants a CLEAN HOUSE?”, which I’m sure drives Jim crazy.
#2 & #3: Reruns of the Daily Show and Colbert Report
The Daily Show is awesome, but I heart Stephen Colbert the very most. He is a comic GENIUS and I love the fact that he was on Strangers with Candy with Amy Sedaris, another of my fave performers. The whole pseudo-neo-con act is brilliant. A couple of weeks ago Stephen visited an exhibition about water. I thought I was going to lose it when he kept brining up the great flood. Good times.

Elftastic
I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure if you look up “ridiculous” in the dictionary, you’ll find this next to it. If only all the aspects of the holiday season were as delightful.

Lord of the Nerds
Breathtaking in both their complexity and sheer geekiness. I have to give extra props to this one, of course.

My new favorite web site
I can’t believe how fabulous this is. I had to buy an early birthday present for myself.

Would you like fries with that?
This is awesome: fast food advertising vs. reality.
Deeeeelish!
